A year has passed since the Guardians defeated Pitch Black.
Jack Frost is now part of the group, and tries to balance his new position as the Guardian of Fun with everyday life.
However, the sudden appearance of an old man who claims to be Father Time will mark an abrupt and unexpected break from the quiet period: according to the man, Pitch Black is building a weapon powerful enough to plunge the whole universe into a new one Dark Age.
There is only one problem: Pitch Black is still trapped in his kingdom ...
