💞 Now Complete! July 19, 2020! Seven hours and six minutes. It's strange how time is a matter of perspective. Seven hours and six minutes feels like a lifetime to a child on Christmas Eve. Yet, the same amount of time goes quickly to someone facing what they dread most in life. At another angle, it's plenty of time for some people to fall in love. To others, it's barely enough to decide if they even like someone they just met. Countless monumental moments have been made in less time. A baby could be born and take its first breath, and Martin Luther King didn't need a fraction of that time to deliver a speech that changed the world. I was blessed with seven hours and six minutes as his wife. We spent every single one of those precious moments in his bed, not making love but saying goodbye. We were married at midnight on my eighteenth birthday. My parents wouldn't approve until I turned eighteen so we sat in his room and counted down the seconds before we could quickly exchange vows. His family watched with tears in their eyes as we fulfilled his dying wish. After laying him to sleep under the old oak tree at St. Theresa's Catholic church, I made myself a promise.
