Most of his friends seemed fully aware of his ridiculous feelings for Mat. In fact, Mat was about the only one who was oblivious.

River had been been in love with his best friend for most of the three years he'd known him. But Mateo was bright and fun and confident, what would he want with someone shy and maybe even a little geeky? It's a crush that had to go away if their friendship was going to survive. And then there was the added complexity that, just maybe, River wanted someone who'd tie him to the bed and spank him till he wept. He'd just have to start looking in a different direction.
