Raiden, the God of Thunder is the protector of Earthrealm. With the constant threat from Outworld and the Neatherrealm, there is not enough hands to aid Raiden. Despite being a God, he can not do this alone.

Therefore he selected those who are skilled in combat and their devotion to fight off threats from Evil.
