Description
When Lucy Maddick finds out that she isn't human...her entire life is flipped upside down. She was ready to finish her last few weeks of college, prepping for a big audition at the N.Y Academy of the Arts. As per normal, she has her entire life planned out, until the mysterious and handsome, Maxon Casteel crashes in on her performance and her life. "It will take some time to control your powers, especially that one." I turn to see him moving towards me, a half grin on his face. I'm going to smack that look right off of him. Rage overtakes me and I can feel my face burning, my body temperature increasing by the second. Tears well up in the sides of my eyes, but I quickly blink them away- afraid that if I let them continue it will turn into sobbing. My body is shaking at this point, as he inches closer, a predator closing in on his prey. "You're just going to make this worse; I don't even want to look at you after what you said last night!" I seethe, glaring at him. He sighs and reaches out to touch me but, I move my arm out of the way just in time, avoiding his touch completely. I can't bear to feel the connection we have, to feel more of the sparks engulfing my body. "Are you insane? I said get away from me... I'm not your prized possession and I'm sure as hell not your mate." I shout, feeling like fire is about to spill from my throat. I feel like I'm burning from the inside out- maybe I'm also part dragon, as if any of this could get any stranger. "You don't mean that," he coos, finally grasping my hand and placing it against the wall. How it's not burning the hell out of him is beyond me - he grabs for my other hand and puts it in the same position against the wall underneath his. A cool, soothing feeling makes its way down my spine as he intertwines our fingers. He leans down and touches his mouth against my ear, "Breathe Lucy, you're in control of this."
