The Interpreter

Sam Sanders is a successful UN interpreter that decides to get involved in pro bono work with the local police helping immigrants in their interrogations, as a way to give back, thinking she has been leading a fulfilling life.

When she realizes, after helping out a girl, that she did not like her life at all, she quits her job and turns down a marriage proposal in the hope to find herself. Her story is told in bits and pieces, going forth and back in the timeline of her life.
