Lana Steuart was enjoying her exceptionally ordinary life. Of course, she wished for something more, but what sixteen-year-old girl with access to the internet doesn't? Everything was perfect Lana had her mother, who worked extremely hard to raise Lana by herself, and her best friend since sixth grade Brooke, who just got her license and was ready to take the grand city of Indianapolis by storm all summer long with Lana by her side until Lana's father decides to come back into her life after ten years of zero communication.

Her father, Tucker Bates, Invites her to come live with him for the summer at his beach house in Los Angeles, California. Without hesitation, Lana accepts his invitation. She was ready for The Hollywood Walk of Fame, In and Out Burger, and Disneyland. What Lana was not prepared for was the pent up abandonment issues, major FOMO, or meeting her father's secret lover and fiance Jasper Wilkins.
