Prologue

"Would it help to find a place to start? Maybe the beginning, with what happened at the school possibly?" Ellen brings me out of my thoughts.
I close my eyes and shake my head. "No, not at the school." I open my eyes to face her. "No, it begins long before then."
I rub the scars on my wrists for comfort. I can do this. I take a breath in.
"It all started on my sixteenth birthday..."
