Kehlani Kennedy, the naive new girl, meets Michael Jackson, the player who is also in a gang, and tries to start a relationship with him, but realizes that it's not so easy. When she gets involved with his love life a whole bunch of drama unfolds; including drama with other girls and drama involving his gang life. She never thought trying to be with him would be so problematic. She obviously thought wrong.
