Description
Inspired by the 1975 film 'Mahogany' starring Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams. Minnie Nzinga, an aspiring high fashion designer from the Brewster projects of Detroit, Michigan, puts herself through fashion and design school in the hopes of becoming one of the world's top fashion designers. While working as a secretary to Miss Evans at a downtown department store, Winnie catches the eye of renowned Rome-based American fashion photographer, Michael Jackson, who sees Minnie as top model material and tries to convince her to try pursuing a career as a fashion model in Rome, both seeing her as the next big thing in the industry and in his want to be with her. Things begin to spiral out of control after her career skyrockets-Drugs, manipulation, money, regret, sex and alcohol became assets to this new life which places her at odds with Michael. Within this new life, she has to decide if Michael still is a part of it, he who wants his woman to stand by him, and who has issues in her world as a whole.
