"Do you ever think that your best years are behind you?" Clementine asked, voice soft in the the dark room.

"Mmm," Niall hummed, nodding. "Sometimes."

"Me too," she murmured.

"You're what, like 22?" Niall asked, turning his head to look over at her.

"I'm turning 23 soon," Clementine urged, laughing, as if that made a difference

"You're just a baby," Niall laughed, unable to help himself. "We'll talk again when you're 26 and I'm 30. See if the best years really are behind you."
