My mommy is a vampire assassin and my daddy is...

...well, you see...he's kind of...a devil.

Not thee Devil, but a devil. And I'm...

...I'm me?

I was told that when I was born, my parents were really happy. They really were, but then they found out that I was different. Now, I don't think they're so happy. They say they love me no matter what, but I remember the day that they found out about my...disability. My mommy wept and my daddy looked at me with eyes that I couldn't understand.

I don't understand a lot of things. I think...my biggest problem is understanding people-interacting with them.

Mommy says it's normal, that it was even hard for her to interact with others at my age because she was shy at times or afraid to speak of her feelings. Daddy says that too.

But it's not like that, and they know it. They know that I know even if they like to pretend that I don't know.

Mommy and daddy aren't bad people...but they lie. They lie a lot.

They lie when they say there is nothing wrong with me.

They lie when they look me in the eyes and say people act funny around me because I'm young.

It's not because I'm young...it's because I'm autistic...

I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when I was five.

But you see...that's not so much the problem right now. The problem is that...I also have severe separation anxiety.

Mommy and daddy say they'll never leave me, they promised me. But they're breaking their promise now...

Something has come up and they need to go. Now I have to stay with my grandpa-who lives in a mansion full of vampires-for my own safety.

I don't want to stay, but I also was not given a choice...
