Karina "Kara" Ricardos was childhood best friends with Oscar Diaz and their parents would always talk about them getting married one day.

Oscar was very protective and possessive of karina and had a "small" crush on karina even though she was 4 years younger.

But one day her dad got into a tragic accident and died. Her mom wanted a new start so they move away to Brentwood where her mom met her new stepdad Jerry.

Ten years later her mom decides to let her go back to free ridge and live with her cousin ruby.
