Alana Kessler had been fortunate enough to experience plenty of decent summer breaks. With the end of sophomore year just behind them, she and her friends vow to have the most exhilarating and notorious summer that the Outer Banks islands had ever seen. Long days filled with surfing, and spontaneous road trips with no planned destination. But that was before finding the wrecked powerboat stocked with nothing but a motel key and an old compass. Ultimately, Alana is left with what seems like a thousand open-ended questions and an abysmal love she had no intentions of developing. Therefore, what was supposed to have been a perfect summer, might just take her on an adventure she could have done without.
