"Leave me alone, Brett," I growled. He refused, pushing me back against the wall and pinning me there. "Just listen to me!" he pleaded. I rolled my eyes and tried to push him away without luck. "We're supposed to be together." "Maybe I don't want to be with you," I shot back with venom. Brett looked hurt, but I didn't care. How could I? I hadn't cared for much of anything in years. "Alora..." he breathed out, obviously pained. I couldn't bring myself to look in his blue eyes. I couldn't feel again. It would only bring pain and misery. "Look at me." It was a command. And that's where I snapped. He did not own me! I was NOT his, and he would NEVER have me! I could feel my anger growing, the fire spreading over my arms and burning through my shirt.
