His lips pulled away from mine and I finally felt whole again. "I care about you," he said his lips brushing against mine. I closed my eyes letting the words sink in and I let myself dream. I felt his fingers intertwine with mine and I took in a deep breath, trying to record everything about this moment in my memory. I put space between us and opened my eyes. "What about her?" I asked, my throat dry. He looked away and I felt my stomach drop. "I care about her too," he mumbled and I pulled my hand away. "Please, leave me alone," I said as I took a step away from him. He looked over to me wide-eyed. I had been so stupid. He would never pick me. >> << Rose is content with her life. She is in college and gets to live with her best friend. But Rose has been dumped, again, and she lets her best friend convince her to go out to dance their worries away. And that night changed everything.
