5 months after the death of her best friend, and boyfriend, Elena Gilbert is now back at college, trying to move on with her life. She slowly begins to adjust back into college life, until a tragic event brings her running back home. There she finds a broken Stefan Salvatore who hasn't yet gotten over his brothers death. While Elena does her best to help Stefan move on, she also has to deal with her returning feelings for the love of her life that she let go....Stefan!
