Jessica Gilbert has finally graduated high school and has decided to attend the University of New Orleans with her twin sister Meredith, without telling Klaus. After a summer of fun with her ex-boyfriend, Damon Salvatore, Jessica breaks things off to go off to college leaving her best friend, sister, and newly resurrected brother behind.

What will happen when she gets to New Orleans? Will she be dragged into Klaus's baby drama and his struggle for power with Marcel? Will she go back to Mystic Falls to help with their growing problems with Silas and help resurrect Bonnie, one of her best friends who gave her life to bring back Jeremy or will she stay in New Orleans and finally have a normal life?
