amidst the relentless danger always plaguing mystic falls, mila ramone visits her hometown in hopes of reuniting with old time friends. mila's harmless return quickly goes sideways, however, when a run in with a stranger forces her straight into the crossfire, ending both of their lives.

now stuck in some purgatory that is neither heaven nor the destroyed hell of cade, mila must work with the stranger - who she soon realizes isn't a stranger at all - to find a way out. haunted by their past and all of its downfalls, she must trust someone she swore she would never trust again.
