Centuries ago, dragons lived. They wrought their havoc and their hellfire and burned every town they saw to the ground. Centuries ago, they were driven from their mountain havens, and murdered in the hundreds to near extinction. For a time, the mountains were safe.

But now the dragons are coming back, and when they claim revenge on the towns, a maiden or two leaves with them.

Yet though the girls are stolen, they never are to die.
