Bravery

She lifted her little hand and opened it, revealing a soft, peach coloured palm. I watched her palm, waiting for something to appear, but nothing did. Instead, the small hand was raised even higher, and it was soon out of my view. I felt it rest on my cheek. My lips parted in shock and in odd satisfaction from how wonderful her cool hand felt on my bruised cheek.
