Is there perhaps someone out there born from an Angel who will love me for me?" - A young Erik, the Phantom sadly asked his guardian, Madame Giry. Erik was ten-years-old when his guardian, Madame Antoinette Giry, saved him from the traveling circus and took him to the Opera House. Before meeting and befriending Madame Giry, the traveling performers made Erik believe that he was the Son of the Devil due to him being born with half of his face disfigured. Since then, the young boy believes that he will never find love since nobody would genuinely love the offspring of the Devil. That is until Erik befriended a ten-year-old girl named Lucille Bernard when he was fifteen. The young male will never forget the kind smile the little girl gave him when she was staring at his disfigured face. For once, Erik did not feel like a monster when he was in her presence, and he immediately believes she was a child born from an Angel that got sent to love him. The two developed a close relationship, but sadly, Lucille had to leave the Opera House with her family, which broke Erik's heart. Since then, Erik felt emotionless because he believes that Lucille took his heart with her.
