PROLOGUE

"You don't scare me, really." I shrugged.

"You think you're some badass?"

"I prefer 'adventure seeker', but I guess that works too."

The first day I met him, only 5 days after I'd arrived in San Diego, I knew that there was something special about him. He was hiding something. Perhaps even hiding everything.

My parents died in a shooting not more than a month ago, how could I already do something so stupid? But, for some reason, there was something incredibly intriguing about him. It was so wrong, it was practically right.

As right as something wrong can be, anyway.
