We were the best of friends, I could tell her everything. She would turn every rotten day into a brighter one. She was always smiling, even though I knew that under that smile, something was hiding. A secret so dark that no one could know. The only person she told was me, and even though I was happy she at least told anyone it was a burden to know what was going on. What she did, what she had seen.. no one could know.

But she had told me, trusting I would never tell. And I wouldn't. this secret I would take with me to the grave, just like she already had. She died. For me. And that is one more burden I had to live with.
