Description
A writer named Mindy finds herself caught in the middle of a hurricane. Forced into shelter, she quickly learns that the storm will cost her more than an evening of writing. In fact, it could cost her everything she knows. The world has become colorless around her. Atmospheric conditions are controlled by machines that roam the skies and descend to tweak and tinker until everything is perfect--except when it is not. Countries have begun militarizing the technology to engage in warfare against each other. Nothing seems natural anymore, and the need for freedom from it all drives Mindy to challenge the society she lives in. What results is a perilous journey across the region with a group of native Floridians and a robot that claims to have developed a desire to feel.
