Author's Note

Thirteen-year-old Whitley Pablos has grown up her whole life in the Lost Cities, surrounded by people that are supposed to protect and help her. Her life is normal to her world's standards, but something feels wrong. Something has always felt wrong. Like there was something missing. A lost half.
Davian Reese has always been the odd one out. He's never been like the other kids. Surrounded by humans who are social and loud, he's quiet and introverted and seems to have no skills at all. He feels like something is missing in his life like he hasn't fulfilled anything yet.
But things will change in both of their lives when they meet. The world will never be the same.
