Charlotte O'Neal lives a slow paced, peaceful life on Portsmouth island off the coast of North Carolina. School is out for the summer and she spends her days alone at her cabin while her mother is away at work on the mainland. A hurricane hits and triggers a string of events that will change her life forever. Along with strong winds and rain, the hurricane also blows in her father who she hasn't seen her entire life. He takes her for the time of her life as they travel along the Outer Banks but as night falls, the situation takes a turn for the worse. Written by a local.
