Description
In the famous City of Knives a paranoid king's black magic went awry; instead of his son--the prince--it was the king who died. I am that prince although it takes four long years for my memories to return. I find the city prospers under the rule of a regent elected by the city lords. As soon as I see Regent Winters I fall ridiculously in love with him. But the maguses know the 'true king' is alive and wish to thrust upon me a crown I should not have, not with the madness of my bloodline waiting to take me next. I have made a life for myself as fencing stolen good to the city's merchants and petty nobles and I am well respected in the lawless parts of this many parted town. A dark-haired dashing twenty-year-old prince of rogues who bears little resemblance to the tawny and fragile lost prince. With all that I have learned it should not be to difficult make an illicit living, elude the maguses, seduce the regent, and find some sneaky way to make dull elections a permanent replacement to back-stabbing, inbreeding and the greed for a glittering crown...
