Episode 1: The Case of the Missing Shells (complete) February, 1942. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor has drawn the United States into World War Two. Democracy and freedom hang in the balance as the Allies struggle to halt the Japanese advance across the Pacific. In Los Angeles, master sleuth Doctor Fung and his sidekick Dan Barrister are asked to investigate an apparent case of sabotage at an ammunition factory. They hope for an uneventful journey, but the forces of evil never rest. An FBI agent seeks the help of Dan and the Doctor in catching a suspected German spy. But perhaps the agent - and the spy - are not who they seem. And who - or what - lurks in the room next to Dan and the Doctor, casting fear into the hearts of any who dare approach? Dan Barrister's father tells Dan how he met Doctor Fung on board a German submarine in the final days of World War One. Doctor Fung and Dan Barrister are part of the Fox Universe, a shared setting created by Jason Greenfield and based on comic books published in the 1930s and 1940s by Fox Features Syndicate.
