It's been two years since Emily had escaped that god-awful asylum with Jeff. She hasn't seen or heard of him since he left her at that old motel, leaving her to assume that he has gone off to resume his life of being the killer he was before he was apprehended. She was wrong. Jeff had intended to go back to his "normal life," however, he kept finding himself coming back to see her. Why? He doesn't know. What he does know is that he has an itch that he cannot scratch; a constant voice in his head that tells him to check on Emily. So he does, without her knowing, of course.
