Part l: The Career

Carmen Delano, a trained killer from District Two, tells the tale of a dominating Capitol and the twelve districts of Panem. Yearly, each district is forced to send a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 to 18, called tributes, to fight to the death in an annual Hunger Games. Carmen volunteers to compete and finds herself thrust into a whirlwind of violence, confusion, and domination as she struggles to survive.
