Dr. Lillian Carter is the new 2nd year surgical resident transfer from Mass. General Hospital. She is an outcast among the other residents and can only talk with an intern she recognises. Carter ends up making her fellow 2nd years feel threatened by the more experience she received from her former hospital, one of the best in the country.
