The world is overrun with infected and bloodthirsty humans known universally as the Sick, but everything was going relatively well for Desiree Cooper. Then, all at once, Dez's world takes a turn for the worst. Her best friend is killed and Dez is taken away to a hideout in the woods by Calum Hood and his ragtag team of teenage boys in the midst of an apocalypse. However, this safe haven doesn't last long and Dez is soon forced to fight her way through the world with the rude, condescending, unbearable, and incredibly attractive Luke Hemmings, who always manages to get inside her head.
