Description
There are rules, just as there is to any ritual. 1. The stronger the confession, the stronger the bond. 2. Never tell a lie. And possibly, the most detrimental rule of all, 3. Know what you're going to say when the witches are ready to listen. Eli and Sunrise know the rules very well. It's only to be expected, as they've been 'playing the game' for two years now. But as the rest of their friends would tell them, trying to communicate with spirits is no game. Especially not with the spirits of a hundred, maybe a thousand, dead witches that reside in their small town. Eli and Sunrise also know that their confessions will never be strong enough. Unlike their friends, they refuse to unveil their deep seated secrets, locking them away inside. So when one summer, a new evil begins to overtake their small group of friends, putting them through hell and back, the two begin to question whether or not the game was worth it after all. And now, both of them know what they must confess, but the witches have waited too long to listen.
