~ The calm before the storm~

Jamie Williams, International surf champion, Xander Kent his rival.

During a televised International competition Jamie is at the top of his game, Xander not far behind. Despite locals pleas to stay out of the water that day, the competition ensues.

Two hours in Jamie and Xander are head to head. A barrel wave comes up on the horizon, and when the rest of the surfers back off, Xander and Jamie head straight for it. After 30 seconds of silent breath holding, only one emerges from the wave.

The two are 300 meters from shore and all Xander can hear is yelling, but it isn't cheers from the onlookers on shore, no it's from somewhere around him in the water. That's when Xander realizes something is very wrong.
