Meet Adelaide Blackthorn. She's a grim reaper that is currently prancing around London, stirring up conflicts among humans for fun as she collects souls. The higher-ups don't know what to make of her; she's amazing at what she does, but she has a habit of creating strange machines that have set the headquarters on fire too many times to count and stirred up so many petty problems among the mortals that it puts Grell to shame. When Adelaide accidentally blows up a part of a certain earl's mansion and gets entangled in the drama between the Trancy and Phantomhive earldoms (all by accident, mind you), the earls and their demons find themselves struggling to understand this always cheerful reaper that sometimes, just sometimes, shows a glimpse of her true face hidden beneath her bubbly persona. But is that her true face? And why can't those two demons bring themselves to hate their mortal enemy, a grim reaper? Do they see her as a friend...or perhaps something more? The reapers closest to Adelaide realize this and grow more hostile towards the demons. Why? Because she's their coworker, of course! Right? But Adelaide, oblivious to the internal conflict of those around her, continue messing around, claiming to be searching for both her heart and the "thing" she has lost. Too bad she doesn't know what it is. But those around her seem to have an inkling of what it could be.
