Bethany Mota, a teenage girl who is going to a new school. Her family has just moved into town and she knows no one. At a school tour Bethany meets new boy Connor Franta. They both instantly catch each others eye. Connor has major feelings for Bethany, while Bethany is not certain. On the first day of school Connor introduces Bethany to his fellow friend, Kian Lawley. Connor starts to see that Bethany is developing as what seems to be feelings for Kian. Will Connor go out of his way to make Bethany his?
