Xiomara Alonso just wants to take care of her family and make her parents proud by being the first to attend college. If she's not busy taking care of her siblings she's studying, getting ready to take the SATs next year and hopefully have the grades to get a scholarship. Vera Kamen on the other hand has long since given up on gaining her parents approval and just doesn't want to be the family disappointment. But with how high their expectations are even that seems like a challenge
