Chapter 1

One spring day after school, when seventh grader Landon Gray is at the park practicing for his dreaded soccer game, he gets hit by an unexpected friendship. Luna Adler, the class outcast labeled as the Human Crayon, has Asperger's and is deeply passionate about owls. Inadvertently, Landon recruits himself into Luna's mission to observe a nest barn owl eggs hatch firsthand in one of the park's trees. But, with tyrannical school bullies and a demanding parent to deal with, is it possible for Luna and Landon to ever be heard?
