Prologue

Astrid Schneider and her family live in a ramshackle homestead which is just about as old as the hills. She is a typical girl besides the fact that three years ago, she had been succumbed to a rather nightmarish malaise.

Every now and then, she feels vulnerable with no reminiscences to hold on to, no embrace to lighten her silent fears, and no solace to keep her from falling apart. Not until she receives five letters with the pseudonym, Keaton. What she finds in these letters will strain her thoughts, unveil mysteries, and draws her back to the past.
