The year is 2023, and Cheryl and Toni Topaz have been married for six years. They are explaining to their daughter, Ester Topaz, how they met, became friends, and then later became lovers.

"Where do you want me to start?"

"The beginning." the five year old whispered.

"The beginning..." Cheryl repeated.

"Okay... it all started back in 2007, junior year."
