Marinette was scared. Today was supposed to be a celebration of Hawkmoth the savior of Paris, and she had said that he was destroying the city. At the parade, in front of everybody, and Nadja Chamack got it on camera. She knew that Hawkmoth would punish her for it, possibly with death. She needed to disappear.
In the homes of Marinette's friends, a text appeared on their phones. "Goodbye,'' it said and then Marinette was gone.
