1 - The Dross, a long time from now

In a dystopian future, humanity fights for life. Two factions battle for control of how the human race will-- or won't-- progress. The tech-loving Cyphers want to improve the world past its former glory, while the wild Clans shun anything more complicated than a radio. Technology is what brought the world to ruin before, and now everyone is fighting to keep history from repeating itself. A young Cypher inventor creates a new device that could change everyone's lives for the better, but as with all things, it has the potential to destroy everything in the wrong hands.
