Cory, a sixteen year old girl, has been raised with an abusive mother who beats her physically and emotionally. The latest has been insults telling Cory she's fat. Cory takes a break from eating so she can please her mother but disasters occur with a critical boyfriend, a snotty hospital and a true best friend. And it all seems to do with food and the way Cory has to do with it.
