Avalon Kincaid thought she would never gain her wolf or a mate. That was until one day she came home to see her pack in a horrific battle. Suddenly she gains her wolf Hera when she needs one the most. Only for Hera to disappear after the battle. Even thought her pack and herself fight with everything in them only three survive. She gains another wolf. This one is named Sam. Running for their life she runs for four days and three nights. Disoriented, hurt, confused and scared she runs into unknown lands. There she finds her mate who happens to be none other then the Alpha King.

Unfortunately for her the Alpha King is very upset and confused that she is his mate. Not that he doesn't find her beautiful it's just he has only one in his heart and that is his deceased first mate Samantha plus there are no such things as second mates only true mates and choosen mates. Finding Avalon was beyond shocking for him to the point he basically rejects her. How could this happen?

What happens if everyone has told Avalon to stick it out with him that it will get better? What happens if things do get better and she falls for the Alpha King? What happens if she finds out that her wolf is Sam. The same Sam that is the Alpha King's first mate?
