I miss you.” May Gamgee used to only be Frodo Baggins' maid, working for him daily along with her brother Samwise. But during the War of the Ring, Sam went with Frodo all the way into the Cracks of Doom, as we all know, and she followed. And though a strong love grew between her and her master, as they went through many dangers together, she could not follow him over the Sea and to the Undying Lands afar, and had to retreat to Bag End and try to pick up the threads of her old life. But writing letters to her only love, reviving the past, seemed to be her only escape.
