Chapter 1: Welcome to the island!

On the island of Kahului. Kekoa Kelekolio, a sophomore at Maui high school, is one of the youngest students chosen to join the varsity football team. He's one of the most popular kids in his school, which is definitely surprising for his age, but his maturity and exuding confidence fits in perfectly with that of the Seniors he spends his time with. However, for Kalani Opunui, it is a very different story. After filling out an emancipation form and using half his life savings for a one way ticket to the island where his parents were raised, him and his 9 month old son are forced to survive on their own. The stress of having to work 2 jobs and try to graduate high school all while being a single teen parent is very..very hard. But however, his son makes all the sacrifice worth it.
