Chapter One: What's in the Past... or not

It's been ten years since I saw his face. Heard his voice. Told him what an idiot he was...

He was dead and every day after felt like a little more of me was lost.

Until now.

"Hey darlin'", a deep masculine voice said behind me.

No. That's not possible.

I gripped the desk in front of me until my fingers started trembling. I slowly spun my chair around to see the man who has haunted my dreams.

There he was like nothing ever happened. Maybe a few more laugh lines on that stupid perfect face of his, but there he was.
