Mallory Swan was known to have problems. Some say she was born crazy and should be locked up. Other blamed in on the drugs. But Jasper hale swore he had never seen anyone hold a joint so elegantly before.

After being locked away in an asylum in phoenix for a year by her mother Charlie brings her back to Forks after finally finding her in the hope that she might heal.

On the first day of school she attracts the attention of Jasper Hale , her mate.
