Adeline has been friends with Caspian since they were both infants. They grew up together, got to know each other, until things got complicated. Being the princess of Anvard and he the prince of Narnia, people watch them. When rules are set in place and they break them, she and Caspian are forced apart. That is until Aslan calls Adeline to help the prince.
